International Communications Broadcast Systems – By Constance Clarendon – A recent report in Crain’s New York Business indicated that Rupert Murdoch had “Mistakenly” registered to vote as a member of the allegedly anti-Semitic New York Independence Party (see link below). Given his age and how many times Murdoch has changed nationality; such a mistake is certainly possible. However, sources from within Newscorp (NYSE: NWS) indicate that the registration form mistake was retaliation by Rebekah Brooks for Murdoch’s actions, or lack thereof, to support his longtime, once upon a time, protégé.
While Brooks has been absent from Newscorp for some time now; our NWS source indicates that she still has many allegiant former-colleagues throughout that organization. Our source (a staffer at the New York Post) suggested that, “Lots of folks here and around the companies feel that the Chairman hung Rebekah out to dry. Anyone at Newscorp knows… the Chairman never does his own paperwork.” With U.S. investigations, both by law enforcement and the Congress, pending, one has to ask oneself: ‘What has Ms. Brooks got to lose?’
