Breaking: U. to keep Woodrow Wilson’s name on buildings, change informal motto

dailyprincetonian.com – By Daily Princetonian Staff – The University Board of Trustees has accepted a recommendation by the Wilson Legacy Review Committee that the Wilson School and the Wilson College will continue to be named after Woodrow Wilson, class of 1879. Wilson’s views and actions as president of the University and as President of the country “speak directly to our values and aspirations” for the school and for the college, the committee noted in a press release. However, the committee also noted that some of Wilson’s “views and actions clearly contradict the values we hold today about fair treatment for all individuals, and our aspirations for Princeton to be a diverse, inclusive and welcoming community.”
