The tree is lit, the stockings are hung, and gifts are on their way to the house in Stapleton. But whether Tom and his wife Jenna get their packages is another story.
Packages have already gone missing from the Buslers’ home this season. After, Tom turned to a community watch Facebook page for ideas, and he found one: put a weighted decoy box on the front porch, so criminals take that instead. But Tom had the brilliant idea to take it one step further. “I decided I’d use our 2-year-old son’s dirty diapers so that when they went home to open and check for their – what spoils they had plundered from our porch, they were in for an entirely different kind of surprise,” he says.
