hollywoodreporter.com – by Vladimir Kozlov – Moscow – A spokesman said the Russian government is unaware of suspicious ad purchases: “Please, don’t associate us with Facebook stories.” The Kremlin has denied Russia’s links to recently discovered Facebook accounts that spread political messages during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign. On Thursday, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, was quoted by Dozhd television network saying that the Kremlin is unaware of purchases of any Facebook ads by Russian users before the U.S. election.
“We have nothing to do with the [U.S.] election,” Peskov said. “Please, don’t associate us with Facebook stories.”
